​Bio:
Steve Anderson is the Founder and Managing Partner of Matrix Restaurant Consulting. He began his career at age 16, where he started as a Prep and Line Cook at the Top O' The Hill Restaurant in Camillus, New York. However, Steve's passion for food was evident at an even earlier age as he won a blue-ribbon for his Snickerdoodles at the New York State Fair. After graduating early from high school with honors, Steve was accepted at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration. However, he was not ready to enter college at such a young age, and deferred his enrollment for a year. Steve soon found himself living in Switzerland, where he learned about a variety of European cuisines and began to hone his skills as a chef. After a year living abroad, Steve returned to the United States to attend Cornell University. During his years at college, Steve continued his focus on Food & Beverage and Operations Management as he became a teaching assistant for two food classes and the President of the student chapter of the Club Managers Association of America. In addition to his Bachelors of Science degree from Cornell University, Steve holds a MBA from the University of Florida and has completed numerous courses at the Culinary Institute of America.

In his over 35 years in the hospitality industry, Steve has worked in a variety of areas of the hospitality industry - from Fast Casual Restaurants to Airline Catering to Hotels to Casual Dining. Steve has held a variety of titles and positions from his early roots as a Prep Cook to an award-winning Executive Chef to a successful Restauranteur to an innovative SVP of Marketing, Food & Beverage to a visionary Chief Operating Officer to a CEO who kept two restaurant companies afloat during COVID-19 pandemic.

Steve resides in Nashville, TN.

Philanthropy; Adventure & Climbing; World Travel; Fitness & Nutrition; Art & Music; Food & Cooking.

Most Incredible Accomplishment:
Reaching the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro and watching the incredible sunrise as we stood above the clouds.

Greatest Dining Experiences:
  • Eating fresh ceviche, corn tortillas and barbecue baracuda on the beach in Mexico.
  • Our anniversary dinner at Guy Savoy's restaurant in Paris. Every detail and flavor was perfect from the ice-cubes in our cocktails to my appetizer - Tomatoes 3 Ways to the Turbot filleted table-side to the bread pairings with each course.
